WizCommerce Secures $8M; aims to Transform Wholesale Distribution with AI

WizCommerce just raised $8 million in Series A funding to revolutionize how wholesale distributors handle their sales operations. The round was led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), with Blume Ventures, Z47, and Alpha Wave joining in.

The funding comes at an opportune moment. The U.S. wholesale market — worth a staggering $10 trillion — still operates largely through spreadsheets and manual processes. That’s where WizCommerce steps in, offering an AI-native platform that integrates quoting, storefronts, ERP systems, and payments into one cohesive solution.

Founded by Divyaanshu Makkar (formerly with Bessemer Venture Partners and EY-Parthenon) and Vikas Garg (ex-Zomato), the startup has already gained significant traction. The platform processes over $100 million in gross merchandise value annually and serves more than 700 sales reps and 300,000 buyers across categories like home décor, lighting, and general merchandise.

The company’s business model is particularly interesting — it combines SaaS-based subscriptions with transaction-driven revenue. Distributors pay for access to AI-powered tools covering everything from catalog management to payments, while WizCommerce also earns from transaction facilitation and value-added services. This dual approach ensures steady recurring income while tying growth to customer success.

The fresh capital will primarily fuel U.S. expansion and accelerate development of the company’s AI-powered sales and B2B payments platform. WizCommerce also plans to scale its AI stack further, expand into adjacent verticals, and strengthen go-to-market efforts.

The startup is actively hiring across engineering, AI, product, and go-to-market roles, with operations spanning both the U.S. and India.
